The BDIAP recognises that trainee pathologists in the BDIAP home countries (UK, Republic of Ireland, Belgium and the Netherlands) often have constraints on their study leave budgets and may benefit from further funding to attend BDIAP meetings. To assist with this the BDIAP provides bursaries for trainee members of BDIAP home countries to attend meetings that the BDIAP organise (including the the joint Summer meeting with the Pathological Society).
The availability of the bursaries and the closing date for applications for each meeting are advertised in a post on the home page of the website. Trainee members may be awarded one bursary every 2 years during their training but applications are competitive and the number of bursaries are limited. If successful, the BDIAP will pay for your registration, accommodation for the duration of the meeting (not exceeding £100 per night), the dinner and travel costs on production of receipts. Successful applicants must attend the whole of the meeting including the dinner (which is a very sociable event but also very good for networking with pathologist from other centres).
