BDIAP Member Country Trainee and Allied Scientist Members 

A total of six bursaries are available to attend IAP 2024. 

Bursary applications will be formally reviewed by the BDIAP Innovation Subcommittee (formerly known as the Education and IT Subcommittee).

What does the bursary consist of?

  • Meeting registration fee.
  • Financial contribution towards travel and accommodation.
  • BDIAP bursary certificate upon completion of a bursary report.

Am I eligible?

  • Applicants must be a BDIAP Trainee, Affiliate or Allied Scientist Member from the UK, Belgium, Ireland, or the Netherlands. 
  • Abstract acceptance is a requirement of the bursary. Abstracts should be submitted via the IAP 2024 Congress website. 

How do I apply?

Prior to applying for a bursary, you must have submitted an abstract to the Congress. 

  1. Complete the applicable online application form below. 
  2. Your Clinical Lead / Head of Department / Laboratory Manager / Line Manager (as appropriate) must complete and submit the verification document.
  3. You must submit a copy of your submitted abstract when completing the online application form.

Please note:

  • When completing the online application form applicants will be asked to write a short statement (150 words) to demonstrate how they would benefit from being awarded a BDIAP bursary to attend the IAP Congress 2024. 
  • You will be asked to provide your IAP Reference Number when completing the online form. This can be found on the profile page of your Member Area.  
  • You will be asked to provide your submitted abstract number(s) and the title of the abstract(s) when completing the online form. 
  • Only completed applications will be considered. Applications are considered complete once the online form has been submitted and a supporting verification document and a copy of your submitted abstract(s) has been received. 
  • It is not possible to save and return to the application form.

Key dates

5 June 2024 - Abstract submission deadline.
12 June 2024 - Bursary application deadline.
Early July 2024 - Bursary application outcomes communicated with applicants.

Outcomes will be communicated with applicants following the formal abstract notifications issued by the Congress Organisers.

Conditions of the bursary

The following conditions apply for successful bursary recipients:

  • Bursary recipients are required to submit a short report following the Congress. We will provide bursary recipients with a guideline of what to include. The report will be made available on the BDIAP website and circulated to BDIAP members via our e-newsletter. 
  • A member is not entitled to more than one BDIAP bursary in any two-year period.
