NICE manual update

Comments on interim principles and multi-criteria decision framework requested

National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) are making changes to how they develop guidelines to ensure their guidance is relevant, timely and useful for the health and care system. 

NICE have published some changes to their manual for developing NICE
guidelines to allow them to pilot new methods and processes.

These are:

• interim principles for methods and processes for supporting digital living guideline recommendations
• a multi-criteria decision framework for deciding whether to develop or update recommendations and which methods to use.

NICE would welcome stakeholders commenting on these interim principles and multi-criteria decision framework, these should be addressed to GuidelinesManualUpdate2022@nice.org.uk.
