Prior to applying

Prior to submitting a bursary application you will be asked to create a BDIAP account. You will be prompted to create the account when applying for the bursary using the link below.

Once an account has been created you will immediately be directed to submit a bursary application.

Creating an account will enable you to save and return to your application and to track the progress of your bursary application. Please be aware that registering for a bursary application does not constitute becoming a member of the BDIAP.

If you are a BDIAP member from a BDIAP school you will be prompted to log in with your membership credentials.

How do I apply?

  1. Create a BDIAP account.
  2. Complete the online application form. 
  3. BDIAP Schools applicants must provide two references. One of the references should be from the applicant’s Head of Department.

  4. When completing the application form you will be asked to provide the name and email address of your referees.. An email will be sent to the email addresses provided with instructions on how to submit the references.

Please note:

  • When completing the online application form applicants will be asked to write a short statement (150 words) to demonstrate how they would benefit from being awarded a BDIAP bursary. 
  • Applicants must have submitted an abstract to the meeting and upload a copy of their submitted abstract when applying for a bursary.
  • Your referees will only receive email notification to submitt references once a bursary application has been submitted.
  • The references must be submitted directly by your referees. 
  • Only completed applications will be considered. Applications are considered complete once the application form has been submitted and supporting references have been received.  
  • Applicants should not register for the meeting until they hear the outcome of their bursary application. If you are applying for a bursary and have already registered, please inform Louisa Coulthurst.

Conditions of the Bursary

The following conditions apply for successful bursary recipients:

  1. Bursary recipients are required to attend the welcome reception on Tuesday 26 June and the conference dinner on 27 June 2025. 

  2. Bursary recipients are required to submit a short report within 1 month of the meeting. We will provide awarded applicants a guideline of what to include. The report will be made available on the BDIAP website and circulated to BDIAP members via our e-newsletter.

  3. If for any reason you are unable to attend the meeting, please contact Louisa Coulthurst as soon as possible. 
  4. A member is not entitled to more than one BDIAP bursary in any two-year period.
