Prior to applying
Prior to submitting a bursary application you will be asked to create a BDIAP account. You will be prompted to create the account when applying for the bursary using the link below.
Once an account has been created you will immediately be directed to submit a bursary application.
Creating an account will enable you to save and return to your application and to track the progress of your bursary application.
Please be aware that registering for a bursary application does not constitute becoming a member of the BDIAP.
If you have any issues creating an account or submitting an application, please contact Louisa Coulthurst.
How do I apply?
- Create a BDIAP account.
- Complete the online application form.
- The Head of Department in which the work is to be carried out, and the Dean of your current Medical School/Faculty (“your referees”) must both complete and submit a verification document. When completing the application form you will be asked to provide the name and email address of your referees. An email will be sent to the email addresses provided with instructions on how to submit the document.
Please provide the below verification form template to your referees to submit.

Please note:

- The verification document must be submitted directly by both your referees.
- Only completed applications will be considered. Applications are considered complete once the application form has been submitted and both supporting verification documents have been received.
