BDIAP Bursary Opportunities in 2026

Bursary applications are invited for the following opportunities in 2026.
Applications are open to Members of the BDIAP, with some opportunities available for applicants from BDIAP Schools and undergraduate medical students.

16th International Junior Academy Summer School
Each bursary includes:
- Registration fees
- Hotel accomodation
- Travel costs
Eligibility:
We welcome applications from Resident Members from one of the following BDIAP Member Countries: United Kingdom, Belgium, Ireland, The Netherlands

Manchester Pathology 2026
The 16th Joint Meeting of the BDIAP and the Pathological Society.
Each bursary includes:
- Registration fees
- Financial contribution towards accommodation and travel
- Conference dinner
Eligibility:
Applications are invited from the following membership categories based in a BDIAP Member Country (United Kingdom, Belgium, Ireland, The Netherlands)
- Residents
- Affiliates
- Allied Scientists
- Foundation Doctors
- Applications also invited from BDIAP Schools
Abstract acceptance is required for bursary eligibility, with abstract submission open until 13 March 2026. Foundation Doctors are exempt from this requirement but are encouraged to submit an abstract

XXXVI IAP Congress

Each bursary includes:
- Registration fees
- Financial contribution towards accommodation and travel
Eligibility:
Applications are invited from the following membership categories based in a BDIAP Member Country (United Kingdom, Belgium, Ireland, The Netherlands)
- Residents
- Affiliates
- Allied Scientists
- Applications also invited from BDIAP Schools and from Bosnian Residents (via the Nermin Durakovic bursary).
Ordindary Members can apply for a Travel Grant to help support costs.

Other Bursaries with Rolling Deadlines
Innovation Grants
These are intended to assist study in other departments of Histopathology/Molecular Pathology in the UK or overseas.
Student Electives
A contribution for undergraduate (or equivalent) medical students to work in pathology departments in the UK or overseas.
Travel Grants
Support for overseas travel to further the aims of the BDIAP (eg attending meetings of other IAP divisions).
Please note that applications for bursaries with rolling deadlines need to be submitted at least 8 weeks before the proposed date of visit.
